I decided to take my cousins from Europe, who were in town, to see Dinosaur Jr. during their stay. Based on my own past experience seeing the show over ten years ago, I wanted this to be a great experience for my guests. So, I purchased 4 "pancho" seats, supposedly to assure us to be in the middle of all the action, which would be worth the higher ticket price. The so-called "pancho seats" are in the first 5 rows of the Astor theatre, and you wear a pancho to avoid getting too wet from all the flying debris during the on-stage antics. Last time I saw this show, the pancho seats were great. This time, NOT SO MUCH. We honestly felt like we would have been better off further back in the less expensive seats. The whole show seemed to be scaled down, not as wild & crazy as it had been in the past. The actors spent a lot of time in the middle & back of the theatre. My husband, who had also seen the show years ago, said the same thing. Therefore, we were disappointed after paying over $400 for 4 pancho seats!
